Katherine Heigl is back on TV — and back in the drama biz — after NBC announced on Tuesday that it’s picking up State of Affairs, in which we’ll see the former Grey’s Anatomy star play a high-ranking CIA agent and daily adviser to the American president
The show is a little bit like Covert Affairs meets Scandal, but instead of Piper Perabo as a curiously attractive blonde CIA agent, State of Affairs has Heigl. And instead of having an affair with the president — who’ll be played by 12 Years a Slave actress Alfre Woodard — Heigl’s character was engaged to POTUS’ son.
